Does The Name Really Matter?
by AGuest into the household of god, israel, and those who go with... may you have peace!.
as you know i have, for many years now, related to you that i hear the voice of the fine shepherd, the holy one of israel and holy spirit, jaheshua mischajah.
over such years i have received many questions and comments, and engaged in various debates regarding the validity of that name.

designs Just googled Joseph Campbell and noted that he made most of his citations from the writings of CG Jung. I have a hard bound book by Robert Johnston called Balancing Heaven and Earth. He was a student of Jung. He too explains the meaning of myth and religion.
Thanks for your post. I will look into your recommendation.

AUTUMN
by compound complex intoday's sky is no brilliant blue but a soggy blanket of dull gray.
its lofty drabness has acquiesced to the terrestrial, allowing the fall colors of the landscape to explode and bleed upward, outward, into the chill air.
a copse of scrub oak adorns a knoll set amidst the newly greening pasture land.

THE GLADIATOR
Hi Molly - It's an understandable reaction to throw throw baby out with the bath water. I would be interested in hearing why you became an atheist after leaving Jehovah's witnesses.
When I left the Watchower I was not bitter towards them or religion. I visited many Christian churches and restudied the Bible. I then embarked on a 10 year study of world religions including eastern, Zen Buddhism and Tao. Most faiths present a philosophy for living in harmony with ourselves and other people. I am no longer attached to any religious movement and no longer pray to a personal God.
Even so, I find that understanding can be enhanced by being humble and open to possibilities. Having lost your faith, you now have to find balance in your life. Gentleness, love and kindness are qualities that are a part of most believers lives. What they share can be beneficial to you, and help you to maintain your awe of being a part of something wonderful.
Please take your time and don't rush to find a new lable for yourself.

Could the invention of religion have been a mistake?
by Mad Sweeney inis it possible (and is there any evidence?
) that religion was invented by mistake?
that perhaps someone wanting to describe the reasons for things not understood used metaphors that the ignorant took literally?

Religion is more a part of mankind's development than an invention. It has many similarities to language and dialects. Both are written and spoken. Different countries have developed their language and religion according to need.
Both religion and language have brought benefits and problems depending on how they have been used. Animals have no written language or religion and have managed to exist longer than humans. I don't see either as a mistake any more than I see humans themselves as a mistake.
What's my point? I don't have one - I am just rambling...

Our world is proof that life is possible and what is possible happens in the fullness of the universe and time.

as you may or may not be aware, i recently posted a thread regarding the relevancy of the name of our lord.
in that thread, and one or two others, i mentioned the language of our lord... and thus, the accurate rendering of that name.

Inkie Thanks for your explanation. I do appreciate the Jehovah/Yahweh connection but it is nice of you to take the time to expand my knowledge in such detail.
